A month into the growing season on the vineyard.
We have got about 6 inches of vine growth so far and the vines are really responding to the rain we have had so far this season. A welcome contrast to the previous 2 years of drought!
Over night rains still means that we can get our jobs done in the vineyard. so everything is looking beautifully tidy and green. In the winery we are preparing the 2015 Reserve Pinot's for bottling, as well as the first of the 2016 white blends.
As a wine grower it is great to seek inspiration from other growers, there are some amazing wines being made and there is always a lot to learn and think about. Last night I really enjoyed a Black Estate Damsteep 2015 Riesling, also from the Waipara Valley, it had a lovely moreish dryness to it. Perfect for a warm spring evening.
